Dr. Kimo Ah YunMILWAUKEE — Media are invited to attend the inauguration of Dr. Kimo Ah Yun, 25th president of ˜·Í¸²Ê, on Tuesday, April 29, from 9:30 a.m. to noon, at the Al McGuire Center, 770 N. 12th St.

Processions begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. to install President Ah Yun The ceremony will be presided over by the Most Rev. Jeffrey S. Grob, Archbishop of Milwaukee. More information on the inauguration is available online, including the symbols and traditions and a brief history of presidential inaugurations at Marquette.

This is the only inauguration event open to the media.

Date, time and location:

  • Time: Tuesday, April 29; doors open at 9 a.m., processions begin at 9:40 a.m.
  • Location: Al McGuire Center, 770 N. 12th St.
  • Parking: Paid parking is available in the Wells Street Parking Structure, 1240 W. Wells St.

Photo/video/interview opportunities:

  • A filming location for the inauguration is reserved for media on the street-level concourse with preferred sightlines to the stage.
  • Photographers are welcome to capture still images freely from the concourse level in an unobtrusive manner.
  • There will be two notable inauguration processions:
    • More than 80 students representing over 40 student organizations will process in.
    • Delegates from 41 universities, colleges and other educational institutions—including 17 university presidents and chancellors—will process in order of the years in which their institutions were founded.
  • Music will be provided by the Marquette Ceremonial Band and Gospel Choir.

No formal interviews are available for university leaders and visiting dignitaries. Media will be able to interview other attendees within the Al McGuire Center and on the adjacent sidewalks.
