Ralph H. Metcalfe Collection
Biographical Note: Ralph Harold Metcalfe, Sr. (May 29, 1910 – October 10, 1978), a 1936 ˜·Í¸²Ê alumnus and Track Star, was a World Record Holder, U.S. Olympic Team Member (1932 & 1936), a Chicago Alderman, and Representative in the U.S. House of Representatives, Illinois First District. He jointly held the world record in the 100-meter dash and placed second in the event at the 1932 and 1936 Olympics. He won four Olympic medals and was regarded as the world's fastest human in 1934 and 1935.
